ThunderBoss Bar & Grill is the newest lakefront restaurant to come to downtown Green Lake, Wisconsin. We specialize and take great care in providing fresh apps, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. We offer an array of delicious food, craft beer and wine at affordable prices in a warm family-friendly casual atmosphere. Online ordering, delivery service and dockside pick up via boat or jet-ski is available but what really sets us apart from the rest is our ThunderBoss Team! We work cohesively across all departments, work hard, and know the true value of the perfect dining experience so we make sure that happens every time someone walks through our doors!

 

Brief Summary of Role

 

Cooks will be able to cook meals according to recipes and accurately adapt to guests’ needs and requests. Along with prepping their station and assisting colleagues as needed, BOSS cooks come ready to deliver quality. Cooks must be able to safely and efficiently use a knife, fryers, grills and any other piece of equipment necessary in order to create dishes. Must be able to follow instructions, i.e. follow recipes and ask questions when unsure. Cooks are required to work cleanly, safely, efficiently, and respectfully with all staff members, Managers and Owners.

Responsibilities

 

  • A BOSS Cook’s responsibility is not just cooking food for the customer, it’s also about coming to work ready and willing to take part in providing the BEST Customer Experience that is unmatched. Consider this coming to work in ‘BOSS Mode.’

  • When you arrive to work you are ready to work.

  • Must have a positive attitude

  • Clean uniform and a well kept personal hygiene.

  • Have everything necessary to do your job. I.e. Clean uniform, Kitchen tools (knives, peelers etc..), Non-Slip Shoes, and a smile and a positive demeanor.

  • Must be able to maintain a proper par level for your station going in to service based on business needs.

  • Quality Check. What is good? What has turned? What will need to be re-prepped in order to ensure a positive and healthy experience for all whom are enjoying our products

  • Able to read a prep list and understand how to priorities prep, based on business levels.

  • Able to read recipes required to re-prep line.

  • Must be able to work Clean, organized and efficiently.

  • Prepare food to the expectation of the Chef and as trained using recipes.

  • Understanding of general sanitation state laws and able to cook food safely using these expectations.

  • Able to help other when the situations arise.

  • Effectively/Respectfully communicate. Be able to listen, understand, take criticism, relay orders and call for table pickups etc..

  • General cooking knowledge required. i.e. ability to execute the following cooking techniques/terms, Sautéing, Grilling/Broiling, Braising, Boiling, Small Dice, Large dice, julienne, poach, blanch, fry, sear, make a vinaigrette, temp a steak/burger/chicken/fish, plate, “fire”, ticket, cooler, freezer, Rare, Medium, Well, Temperature Danger Zone, Sani bucket, Mise en place.

  • Must be able to wash dishes, sweep, mop, squeegee, sanitize, organize and put away pots, pans, utensils,  plates, silverware, baskets etc… everyone is responsible for dishwashing

 

Required Experience

 

ThunderBoss Cooks can communicate clearly and effectively while possessing strong organization and multi-tasking skills. We are a team and take great pride in working collaboratively across all restaurant staff, so the ability to be a team player is a must!

  • At all times, you must have excellent eye contact and a pleasant demeanor when communicating with customers and all fellow ThunderBoss team members

  • Understand basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate the POS system

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time

  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop frequently and lift up to 50 pounds

ThunderBoss busser's are not your typical busser's. We set ourselves apart from the rest by providing an out of this world customer experience. The experience is in the details, which means when the restaurant opens, it is clean, prepped, stocked, and the team is ready to go!

Responsibilities

 

  • A BOSS Busser’s responsibility is not just bussing tables, it’s also about coming to work ready and willing to take part in providing the BEST Customer Experience that is unmatched. Consider this coming to work in ‘BOSS Mode.’

Required Experience

 

  • At all times, you must have excellent eye contact and a pleasant demeanor when communicating with customers and all fellow ThunderBoss team members

  • Bussers have a wide range of duties and are ready to assist the server, including resetting tables, restocking supplies and helping out guests when a server is too busy or unavailable.

  • Prepares dining room for patrons by setting tables and stocking all necessary supplies prior to the beginning of service

  • Refilling water glasses

  • Supports wait staff by assisting them with delivery of food and retrieval of any supplies they may require

  • Maintains a clean and sanitary bussing station
