ThunderBoss Bar & Grill is the newest lakefront restaurant to come to downtown Green Lake, Wisconsin. We specialize and take great care in providing fresh apps, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. We offer an array of delicious food, craft beer and wine at affordable prices in a warm family-friendly casual atmosphere. Online ordering, delivery service and dockside pick up via boat or jet-ski is available but what really sets us apart from the rest is our ThunderBoss Team! We work cohesively across all departments, work hard, and know the true value of the perfect dining experience so we make sure that happens every time someone walks through our doors!

 

Brief Summary of Role


ThunderBoss waiters are not your typical waiters. We set ourselves apart from the rest by providing an out of this world customer experience. The experience is in the details, which means when the restaurant opens, it is clean, prepped, stocked, and the team is ready to go!

Responsibilities

 

  • A BOSS Server’s responsibility is not just serving food and drinks to the customer, it’s also about coming to work ready and willing to take part in providing the BEST Customer Experience that is unmatched. Consider this coming to work in ‘BOSS Mode.’

  • Show customers to their seats and present our variety of menu options

  • Advise on the best food and drink choices for each customer and answer questions

  • Take orders and deliver them to the table

  • Attend to the tables and guarantee compliance to cleanliness standards

  • Check the quality of the final servings and resolve any issues

  • Deliver checks and accept payment

  • Work with other staff as a team

  • Work diligently to achieve outstanding service quality

  • Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar

  • Assist in restocking and replenishment of inventory and supplies

Required Experience

 

ThunderBoss waiters/waitresses are able to communicate clearly and effectively while possessing strong organization and multi-tasking skills. We are a team and take great pride in working collaboratively across all restaurant staff, so the ability to be a team player is a must!

 

  • At all times, you must have excellent eye contact and a pleasant demeanor when communicating with customers and all fellow ThunderBoss team members

  • Proven work experience as a server, wait staff member or have the motivation to do so!

  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues and customers and ensure mutual satisfaction

  • Customer-oriented and planning skills

  • Working knowledge of cash register and any ordering information system

  • Outstanding people skills

  • Patient and friendly with demonstrated experience in problem solving

  • Good physical condition

  • Food safety training will be a plus

 

Other qualifications to note:

  • At all times, you must have excellent eye contact and a pleasant demeanor when communicating with customers and all fellow ThunderBoss team members

  • Understand basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate the POS system

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time

  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop frequently and lift up to 50 pounds

  • A BOSS Host’s responsibility is not just seating guests, it’s also about coming to work ready and willing to take part in providing the BEST Customer Experience that is unmatched. Consider this coming to work in ‘BOSS Mode.’

  • Greet incoming and departing Guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce waiter's name

  • Inform Guest of current promotion and who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff

  • Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service

  • Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriate

  • Tend to special Guest needs and requests

  • Observant to Guests’ needs throughout dining experience to ensure they receive high quality service (i.e. notice a drink refill is needed while seating another Guest and ensuring the drink is refilled prior to getting back to the door).

  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies

  • Help dining room staff by setting and clearing tables; replenishing water; serving beverages

  • Issue dining charges by verifying orders; calculating taxes; totaling bill for to-go orders

  • Receive payments by validating credit charges; approving checks; accepting currency; calculating and issuing change for ToGo orders

  • Reconcile cash drawer by proving cash transactions; listing checks and credit card charges for to-go orders

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Required Experience

 

ThunderBoss Hosts can make or break the customer experience. We take great pride in working collaboratively across all restaurant staff, so the ability to be a team player is a must!

 

  • Possess strong communication skills and be able to articulate clearly and effectively to both customers and staff

  • Strong desire to help out where needed and work as a team

  • Must be passionate in providing the very best customer service and have a positive attitude.

  • Understand basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate the POS system
